A long, effortless motorway run to the capital, ending on its eight-kilometre waterfront.
Follow Sheikh Zayed Road south until it becomes the E11. It is wide, smooth and straight, which suits a quiet car best.
Come in over the Sheikh Zayed Bridge, pass the Grand Mosque and follow the coast road to the Corniche. The lights come on along the water just after sunset.
Speed cameras on the E11 are frequent and the limits change between emirates. Fines are passed on at cost, so set the cruise control and enjoy the ride.
